disclaimer: this is the life and times of meredith r. mistletoe. i'm making a slight attempt to disguise my identity and hide things that i write about and pretend i don't feel things i do. but if you read this and i don't know you read it, then you read it at your own risk. and you should let me know you're reading it... especially because a lot of the time things need clarifying or aren't quite true anymore or etc etc etc.

note: potential employers: please do not judge me on my diaryland. that's lame.

This is my fourth attempt at writing an entry. This might actually be an intersting entry for once.

Being young is pretty amazing. And I'm never acting young enough, I'm always busy working and sleeping and eating. Not enough party. I think I'll change that when I'm in Toronto.

enough capitals.

friday night started out with sweet constantine. niki and jeffmorton and i went to louis to see his d.j./breakdancing/etc thing. (jm and i also went for tea at city perk before that. it was nice. talked about some stuff. i like stuff.) niki and i danced a bit at the beginning and then break dancers took over. i watched for virtually the whole time, enjoyable. some people weren't so good. jm and i decided that we liked constantine best. he just puts so so much effort into his show. i bet he practices his choreography at home. he's hilarious, i kept almost falling over laughing. especially with this one move he did that involved slapping himself in the face. holy god it was bad. but good and entertaining. he d.j.ed for a bit too. played some good funk. but not jungle boogie, niki and i were disapointed. it all ended at like 1.30, and it was early. we stopped to talk to constantine, and he asked where we were going, and he said that we should go to the hose and hydrant and dance.

we went to broadway, and we were going to go to the hose, but we went by amigos. a band called the carnations were playing, and jessalynn was going, so we were going to find her to say hi. it was all done when we got there. but we found jessalynn talking to the band. specifically the lead singer (thom) who was 'her crush!'. so we stayed and talked to them for a good while. i wanted a sticker. and then i wanted a button. but i didn't want to have a button and never have heard their music. so i decided to buy a cd. the boy i was talking to at that point, nathan, said i could have one button. and i decided to buy one too. they had lots of buttons, one said 'i play drums for the carnations', and the rest said 'i made out with (name) from the carnations'. so i got the drums pin, and then i also got an 'i made out with nathan' pin, as he was selling it to me (and was also pretty cute, go here to see him, on the right, thom's on the left). the whole band was really nice, i was mostly talking to nathan though. and he got my sense of humour right away. like when i asked if they were going to put the equipment right in the van. and was it going to fit right in there..and so on. me and niki kept making cum comments too and i can't leave the 'your mom' retorts be. and we kept hearing funny stories about them spooning (and the leg over).

but i did want to see sweet constantine so we left to go to the hose, and invited them, but they had equipment to load, and so on. the hose was awful! i'd never been in there before, we walked in and there were people making out everywhere and being irritating on the (tiny) dance floor. three boys hit on niki within 2 minutes. i went down to the bathroom but it smelled so much like vomit i couldn't stay in there. and there was no sweet constantine. so we left and i wanted to go back to amigos to see if the band was still there. so we went in, and jessalynn and her friend had already left, so we were going to go, but then the band was all sitting together, so we went over there and started talking to them, and then nathan asked if we wanted to come hang out with them at their hotel. so we helped them load their gear (right into the van) and we went to the senator.

it was pretty fun. we mostly just sat around, the room was really warm and nice. we didn't hear that much from patrick (he looks a lot like ethan embry from empire records), or steve (who looks a lot like jason lee in mallrats) but they both seemed very sweet. we heard soooo much from thom, holy god. he has this big dilemma choosing between a girl he really likes from halifax, or natasha lyonne, star of slums of beverly hills and american pie and but i'm a cheerleader and so on. who he met in vancouver where she's filming blade 3. it was just hilarious. he was being quite silly about the whole thing, and seeming like he wanted opinions when really he just felt like talking about it. it got stale. i think niki was pretty irritated with him. but niki likes arguing so..

we were there until like 4.30. me and nathan played on the computer for a bit and niki argued with thom. when we were leaving nathan came too, and we drove niki home. then i needed to go by my house to tell my mum i hadn't been killed in a car wreck. so i went in and talked to her breifly and said that i was with a cute boy and would be back some time. and i got some apple crisp.

we drove out of town (i love how little time it takes to do so here, i'm really going to miss that), and parked. we talked a little and made out a lot. we sang a lot of cake too (stick shifts and safety belts- very relevant in my tiny car) and laughed. i felt like i was in a short story about prairie kids. he said he felt like he was in a movie. he kept saying really irritating things that were funny too. it was kind of awkward at times. he's such a boy. i get used to boys who are less- - male. i liked it though, i'd rather have people be really upfront and honest with me.

did i say that they're from toronto? nathan and i might have coffee when i move there. that might be interesting. or awkward. but i love awkward situations! (nathan; if you're reading this, you should let me know.)

john p. sutton (a weakerthan) produced these guys' cd. and trevor macgregor (treble charger) drummed for them at one point. it was so funny because me and niki didn't even see the show. but i've been listening to the cd and it's quite quite good. i wish i had been there to dance.

it was an interesting night. i should spend more time doing things i don't normally do.

oh and the button? so true now.
